Tile Grout Restoration
Most homes, when newly constructed, never have grout on the interior floor or wall tile sealed. Over time and as soaps, residues, oils, liquids and foods spill onto the surface, the grout becomes discolored and stained. Our first step in restoring the look of the grout is a thorough cleaning to remove these stubborn items. However, even with the grout completely clean, many stains still serve to darken or shade the grout area, relative to the neighboring grout lines. This is a very common situation and the solution is not only to seal the grout from further stains, but to re-color the grout to give the look and feel of a brand new floor. This is an extremely professional product that will clean and seal your grout, color your grout, recolor your grout or match your Grout color as well as seal it for years to come. The best part is that we can re-color and seal your grout in one step.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can you match my existing grout color?
A: Yes. We have numerous color sealers for all sanded and un-sanded types grout. You can have any color you wish. Even under the best conditions, even new grout has different shades. We simply match the color you desire to insure a consistent shade of grout color. Our color sealer absorbs into the pores of your grout for a long lasting/uniform finish.
Q: What is the drying time?
A: You can walk on it in 10 to 12 minutes, however it takes 48 hours to fully cure. Keep sealed areas dry for 48 hours to ensure best results.
Q: How often do you have to clean the grout once it is color sealed?
A: We recommend you should clean your floor once a week using clean water. When cleaning the floor, it's important to change your mop water when it appears dirty. That way, you are not just making the floor dirty again. Dry the grout with a towel or terry cloth. Should any area have dried up surface stains on it, simply spot clean with water.
Q: How often will I have to re-color my grout after the initial application?
A: Depending on traffic conditions and with proper maintenance, the grout color restoration sealer can last for up to 10 years or more!
Q: I’m selling my home, should I replace the tile?
A: Most Real Estate investors will agree that the three most important rooms in determining a home's value are the kitchen, bathroom and the master bedroom. You can spend tens of thousands of dollars to replace the tile in these rooms but often you will see little profit after deducting these costs. Alternatively, you can spend much less and simply restore the grout in these key rooms and add thousands to the value of your home and put the extra money in your pocket!
